We have all had things happen to us in life that has set us back. Traumatizing events in our lives such as divorce, moving, death, and just the stress of daily living can be enough to put the fire out on the best-intended fitness goals.
For me personally, it has been a divorce and finding a new location to “be me” that has created a great shift in my life. Due to the stress, I haven’t been as dedicated to my followers as I would have liked to be in regards to putting out more pole dancing lessons and workouts. I have slipped back on my fitness goals because of the stress as well.
Going months between my pole dancing workouts caused a great setback in my ability to perform and physical strength.
In addition, I get a great emotional release and sense of accomplishment after my pole dancing workout. Since I wasn’t doing that, life’s stress’s seemed a lot harder…. Which in turn set me back even farther.
It’s time to get back on track! So, if you are like me and need “find your center point” again, let’s take a look at how pole dancing for fitness can help:
My goal has and always will be to feel exceptionally well, confident and centered emotionally within myself as well have a healthy and fit physique. My goal is also to help all those who come in contact with me reach those same states of achievement.
I believe the first step to getting back on track is to get out of your comfort zone and face your weaknesses.
You can’t expect to get different results by continuing to do things the exact same way you always have.
I read somewhere once that you really aren’t “living” if you are comfortable.
So, to get out of my comfort zone, I ditched my perfectionist rut I get myself into sometimes and decided to pole dance freestyle which is a great weakness of mine.
I don’t want to repeat history, make the same mistakes, of becoming the person I was. To the contrary, I plan to learn from my setbacks and become BETTER!!
Trying times can re-shape a person in tremendously positive ways, it’s all a point of view!
So here is my “first step” in getting out of my comfort zone:
The next steps I plan to take are:
- Re-Organizing my habits to be sure my actions align with my highest goals.
- To practice the joy of my dancing by letting go and releasing self-judgment.
- Gravitate away from the idea of perfection and living up to society’s expectations of what is considered “beautiful” and discover my own power and voice.
- Get back on a regular pole dancing workout plan, to challenge myself, to keep going……
- Develop a schedule of consistency for my eating habits and exercise.
- Drink more water ….. I know, kinda basic, I will explain later 🙂
I will be writing more about my next steps in the following articles and videos. If you don’t already get emails from me, Please remember to subscribe to my newsletter to get the next articles and videos on this topic, you can do that using the subscribe form at the very bottom of this page.

Wow Thanks for sharing that with us. I keep saying I am going to get back and there are always more things in my way. I need to do same as you are doing. it’s just doing it… finding that time and making yourself be accountable and getting started again.. this really encouraged me to try, I am so out of shape and it’s like starting over.. But I am ready to enjoy the way it felt when I could land a move. even if it was not a hard one. and dancing always made me happy and I was in better shape.. Hang Tough !!!
Hi Jacqui, Thanks so much for sharing! I was hoping there were more in the same boat! Im thinking that together we can find our way back on top. It is very tough and it always seems like there is another stressor or emergency in the way! That’s how I got off track too…. Im on a mission to change it 🙂 peace and love!
