Im afraid of the dance pole coming loose from the ceiling, how can I avoid this?
This is a common concern and rightfully so!
All portable, removable, and adjustable pole dancing poles (regardless of brand) have a locking mechanism on the adjuster bar. Most of the time when a pole comes down, it’s because the pole was not installed correctly meaning the locking mechanism was not tightened correctly OR the dance pole was not tightened tight enough; meaning there was not enough tension created between the floor and ceiling during the installation process.
It is VERY important to always follow the manufacture instructions to install the pole correctly and safely. You can find dance pole installation instructions for various brands here: https://polefitnessdancing.com/dance-pole-installation/
Never purchase a dance pole that has plastic parts, especially plastic parts for a the locking mechanism ……… why? Because plastic breaks. Those types of dance pole are only good to dance AROUND, not on. If you plan to dance on your dance pole, be sure you get a pro quality dance pole with all metal parts and proper gripping material on the dome and base of the pole. Purchasing a dance pole that is compatible with a permanent ceiling mount increases safety when installed correctly as well however, in our years of selling dance poles, over 80% of dance poles are portable, adjustable, removable versions that do not require the ceiling mount. Most people find those types of dance poles safe to dance on.
